Loop from starting point Kalheupink, near Oldenzaal. The trail runs through the northern part of the Boerskotten estate, up to the highway that crosses the area. Boerskotten is a typical Twente nature reserve, in which almost all the variety of nature in the area passes by. Here you walk from vast grasslands to hedgerows, over avenues with stately trees to forests of rhododendrons. In the summer, wild flowers proliferate and streams flow through the meadows.

Route through the hilly areas northeast of Oldenzaal. The route runs almost entirely on paved, quiet paths and is good for walking or running. It is a beautiful piece with large hills, in which forests and grasslands alternate. You regularly cross a river and the route passes beautiful viewpoints and picnic spots.

With its 85 meters, the Tankenberg is the highest point in the province of Overijssel. From the top of the mountain you have beautiful views. In addition, the Tankenberg is a source of sagas, legends and myths. The walk takes you past a hexagonal chapel from 1840, on which texts by Tacitus can be read. Hike from De Grote Zwaan you walk through the green. Along a viewpoint and on to the Rhododendronlaan, a lane that lives up to its name. This leads to the English gardens of the Kalheupink Park. The route leads back to the starting point through alternating green areas. The trail is part of the Twente Walking Network and is marked with purple arrows. At the starting point Kalheupink you can switch to other routes of the network.

The orange trail on the Tankenberg has been plotted by Wandelnetwerk Twente. The route offers a beautiful nature experience with a lot of variety. The trail takes you through fields and old deciduous forests, over ancient medieval roads and past a small old chapel, through the gently sloping landscape of the Tankenberg with beautiful views. The trail is provided with information boards.
