This makes it an original and varied route with many single tracks, through a mix of forest and heath, all around the two forestries.

Hiking route Dennenbos is a hiking route marked with yellow posts by Staatsbosbeheer. It is a short walk through the forests of Exloo, which are part of the Hondsrug. Deciduous and coniferous trees alternate, and you walk along heathland and drifting sands. Meanwhile, you can hear the countless birds that live here.
