This route starts at the trail fork with Warburton Rail Trail on Beresford Road in Lilydale and extends out to Yering Station. The other sections of the the Yarra Valley Trail are estimated for completion in late 2021 and will enable a valley-wide loop. The trail is flat with no steep hills, sharp turns or other hazards and is suitable for most types of bicycles and for riders and pedestrians of all skill levels and abilities.

This is a great and gentle path that follows the old rail line from Lilydale to Warburton. This section follows the path from Lilydale to Saville. The path is gently graded, so the ascents and descents don't feel too difficult. It's a wide path with mostly compacted gravel surface making it a great choice for a range of activities, like running or cycling. Cyclists will prefer a wider tyre (at least 35mm) to be comfortable on the gravel.

This route is perfect for fitness with plenty of variation and trails nearby to connect up to this loop but also to be able to keep an eye on your distance covered when doing multiple turns around the lake.

This is a great trail to explore traveling to picturesque Lilydale Lake via Hull Road Wetlands. The route connects multiple loops between Lilydale Lake and Olinda Creek Trail. Visitors can find parking at Lillydale Lake Park which can be accessed via Swansea Road. If the carpark is full, additional parking spaces can be found at nearby Bellbird Park. A short trail that runs through suburban bushland near Lilydale. The gravel path runs along a section of bush between Swansea Road and Olinda Creek. You can cross Hull road to connect it to the trail that continues on to Lilydale Lake and Hull Road Wetlands. A good spot to go for a walk, run or ride in suburbia.
