This is a fantastisc half marathon next to the lake Mývatn. The run starts near Arnarvatn and ends at the Nature baths. The run goes past Grímsstaðir, through Reykjahlíð village.

Skútustaðir is located in the Northeastern par of the countray and Skútustaðir are stunning pseudocraters that are formed when the lava flows over marsy ground, trapping the water below it. The water heats and turns to steam. The steam escapes through vents, exploding and fragmenting the lava around them to form small craters. This is the smaller loop in the south side of the lake.

Vindbelgjarfjall is also called Vindbelgur Mountain and it's a mountain that is situated on the western shore of lake Mývatn. The trail start snext to the farm Vagnbrekka and brings you to the top of the mountain with spectacular views. The first section is flat until you reach the mountain. A steep uphill to the top to enjoy the fantastic view over the lake, the craters and the stunning area of Mývatn.

This route starts just inside the gate to Kálfaströnd farm and leads to Klasar, opposite Höfði. It is an easy walk through bizarre lava formations and landscape. Excellent for bird watching. The Höfði peninsula is also a great place to walk, starting by the parking the trail leads from the gate through a small forest along the lake shore. Beautiful lava formations and bird-life.
