The artificial lake has only been in existence since 2005, but has quickly developed into a beautiful recreational area. Loop on the Ennemaborg estate. Actually, the Ennemaborg is not a "borg" (a form of a Groningen castle), but a country estate. The noble privileges of the family were lacking to be able to call it a borg. The earliest parts of the estate date from the 14th century, but many parts you see now date from the 18th century. The route starts at the coach house (now a restaurant), the mansion and the deer park. You walk south along the canals, into the park woods and then into the natural forest....

The Reiderwold used to be an agricultural area. In 2006, a group of farmers from the East Groningen Agricultural Nature Association joined forces, bought several agricultural plots and started the transformation into a nature reserve. Now you walk through the grasslands along the waters and around the nature reserve. The route leads to the nature theater. This is trail 255 of the Groene Wissels and leads through the varied nature reserve Tussen de Venen in the Kloosterveen. The hike takes you through a nature development area with pools, lakes and drifting dune landscape. On the way there the route goes on country and grass roads through meadows, on the way back through some forests.
