The McDade Recreation Trail extends the length of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The northern start point is at the Milford Beach Boat Launch and the southern point is the Hialeah Trailhead. The trail is crushed gravel and is best for mountain bikes. Traditional road bike tires are likely too skinny.

This route can also be done as an out-and-back by just using the Garvey Springs Trail and then returning on it. It is rockiest by Sunfish Pond. Swimming is not allowed there. The Douglas Trail has dark blue blazes and the Garvey Springs Trail has orange blazes.

There are nice waterfalls at the beginning. To reach Sunfish Pond you gain a lot of elevation but the pond is beautiful. There is a backcountry campsite on the Appalachian Trail section. You will be following the light green, white, and orange blazes.

The Douglas Trail has dark blue blazes, the Appalachian Trail has white blazes, and the Dunnfield Creek Trail has light green blazes. Most of this trail is wooded but on the Dunnfield Creek section you will be following along and crossing the creek. Brook trout fishing is allowed there.
